On February 5, 2024, Jessie Benjamin passed away peacefully, at her home, and went home to the be with our Lord. She is survived by her children, Danny and his wife Diane, Nancy and her husband Frank and their children, Lauren, Nick and Ashley, and Shirley, and her husband Bryan and their children, Andrew, Joel and Sam. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Calvin, Ellie and Theo. Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, Ed, and her parents, Andy and Diane Noga.
Jessie was born in Reading, PA and lived there in the care of her aunt Cassie, while her parents were establishing themselves in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from Dorsey High School.
Jessie spent her early years supporting her mother’s home-based beauty salon business after school. Jessie started working at Robinsons, Beverly Hills and became an assistant buyer in the children’s department. For over seventy years, Jessie has supported the family business, W.A. Benjamin Electric Company, formed by Ed’s father in 1911. She remains on the Board of Directors of the corporation.
Jessie met her future husband, Ed, at a church social at Florence Avenue Presbyterian Church, where they were ultimately married and have remained married for almost 70 years. They settled into a home that they built together in the new community of Ladera Heights where they became members of Knox Presbyterian Church so that they could raise their family in the church community.
Jessie was an avid shopper and loved the “deal of the sales”.
